Even though they lived in total isolation from the rest of the world, even though they barely made a living, even though basic foods were missing in the stores, they were given in minimal rations, even though the punishment was severe if you exceeded the dictated norms of speech or thinking... again, the majority of Albanians were convinced that Enver Hoxha was God on earth - the man they worshiped unconditionally. But who was Enver Hoxha beyond the facade, beyond that golden curtain with which the propaganda of the time clothed him? How did he manage to catapult to the top of power a brazen adventurer, with shallow education, famous as a follower of dresses, starting from the stinking gypsy quarters in France and Belgium? How was the worst human conceived in his mind and how was the authority of the absolute dictator built by oppressing his people and killing without mercy, whether family members or old and loyal friends? How did a single man manage to stop time for an entire people, cut them off for more than 40 years from the course of history, forcing them to live by rules that only fit their own mindset? Exactly the life of Enver Hoxha's youth, spent in France, Belgium and then at the French Lyceum of Korça - the dark sides of this life that fabricated a tyrant, the documentary of the cycle Abc/Story./abcnews.al tries to reveal.
