While many are gloomy about one retail chain after another going under, Oger is having its best year ever with a profit of €1.4 million. How did the Oger family become a star in business? Oger's success started in the late eighties of the last century when Oger Lusink opened his first men's clothing store in the PC Hooftstraat. At that time, the PC Hooft was a neighborhood of civil servants and the well-to-do middle class. It did not seem destined for the Guccis, Chanels and Pradas of this world. Yet Oger Lusink saw salvation in the street. More than 25 years later, that still appears to be a masterstroke. Moreover: 'I don't want to brag, but we created the middle class here', says the older Lusink. The Lusinks: Two sons, one business? Lusink is 69 years old. The time when he has to make way for the next generation is approaching. Who will take over the scepter from Oger Lusink? Father Lusink has two ambitious sons who are passionately involved in the Oger stores. But in the end he has to choose: who will be my successor?
