The president of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry, entrepreneur Toomas Luman, who is critical of the government's tax policy, said in yesterday's ETV "First Studio" exactly what EKRE chairman Martin Helme has always emphasized and what EKRE also did when he was in government - to increase tax collection, taxes must be lowered, not the other way around, bringing the example of Hungary, which turned out to be a pariah for willows. He recalled that the corporate income tax rate was once lowered from 36 percent to 18 percent in much-maligned Hungary, and with this twice lower income tax rate, in total, twice as much corporate income tax began to be collected in Hungary, i.e. tax collection became four times more effective. According to Toomas Luman, the profit tax selected by the government is the worst of all bad choices. "Although the ministers have repeatedly confirmed that the best possible decision was made as a result of a lot of hard work, unfortunately business organizations have a completely different point of view. They are convinced that the worst decision for the Estonian economy was made," said Luman in "Elimese studio". The show aired on September 26, 2024.
