Thanks to a furious start, new national coach Christian Wück celebrated a perfect debut in England. In the 4:3 (3:2) friendly against the European champions, captain Giulia Gwinn and Klara Bühl shot the DFB team 3:0 ahead after just half an hour. The English women almost managed a comeback - but Sara Däbritz sealed the Wembley madness. Here are the highlights of the Bundesliga, the UEFA Champions League and the DFB Cup. Plus the highlights of selected matches from the 2. Bundesliga and the Women's Bundesliga. Can that go well? Christian Wück is under pressure and has to deliver results quickly. The challenge is great - how does he want to tackle this project? And what changes will this bring for the team? We spoke about this with, among others, coach Fritzy Kromp for the new football pitch: https://kurz.zdf.de/tyuU/ sportstudio on Instagram / sportstudio sportstudio on TikTok / sportstudio.de sportstudio on WhatsApp https://kurz.zdf.de/8kH/ The game had barely started when England captain Leah Williamson made a catastrophic bad pass. Debutante Giovanna Hoffmann passed the ball to Linda Dallmann, who could only be stopped by Millie Bright with a foul in the penalty area. Gwinn safely converted the resulting penalty. The game continued at a rapid pace, with the extremely playful Dallmann and Bühl in particular shaking up the English defense. The 2-0 was outstanding: Bühl, coming from the left, fooled England's back four, who were all gathered on her side, with a dream pass to right-back Gwinn, who sent the ball flat into the far corner with her second touch. Alessia Russo missed the chance to connect in return, her shot hitting the post. Instead, Bühl capped off Germany's turbo start. From the left half of the penalty area, she shot the ball powerfully through Bronze's legs into the near corner, goalkeeper Hannah Hampton was once again powerless. But England also had something to celebrate - thanks to Stanway. First, she confidently converted a handball penalty caused by Gwinn after video evidence to make it 1:3, and shortly afterwards a dream combination to make it 2:3. The Germans continued their brilliant, at times fast-paced game in the second half, albeit with some reservations, despite numerous substitutions. Wolter promptly won the penalty after a Russo foul, which Däbritz kicked into the goal. England didn't do much more until goalkeeper Ann-Katrin Berger dropped the ball after a harmless cross. Bronze scored. But the Germans didn't allow anything more, and at the end of the six minutes of stoppage time, Wück was able to celebrate a memorable debut victory.
