Why might that be? Probably because of the segment itself: Classic-cut sports tourers in this price range have generally slipped a little out of the spotlight. A look at the direct competitors also attests to this: only 66 units of the BMW R 1250 RS were newly registered last year, 70 units of the KTM 1290 Super Duke GT and 59 of the Kawasaki Ninja 1000SX. In this respect, the performance of the Guzzi is put into perspective and turns the initial disappointment into a success. The litmus test for the commercial appeal of the new concept will therefore probably only take place with the Stelvio - a first driving report with the adventure bike will follow in the next issue. The attention was certainly high, hardly any other long-term test bike has ever brought us so much mail from readers: with questions and suggestions, with good tips and descriptions of their own experiences. Italian motorcycles, especially Guzzis, apparently not only touch the heart, but also make you active and lively. People exchange ideas, talk passionately about the motorcycle and also lend a hand when it comes to ironing out one or two small wrinkles in the concept. So let's start with the so-called incidents, a topic that is quickly dealt with. During the course of the season there was only one mishap, and that was a loose screw connection on the quickshifter gearshift linkage. Fortunately, the loose nut was still to be found, so we were able to temporarily fix the lever on the side of the road and then quickly re-fasten it properly in the garage later. A small thing, but one that could have been annoying if the nut had been missing. #motoguzzi #v100 #mandello Read more in issue 01/24
