Aloha from Madrid, friends! With you, seasoned traveler Andrey and this is a new episode of the #Expats project. Our first heroine is an opera singer Alena, who moved to live in #Madrid 3.5 years ago. ▶ Education in Madrid Alena emigrated with literally 500 euros in her pocket. Her goal was to study in Madrid and she entered the university on the same terms as all Spaniards. At first, it was not easy: Alena and her musician friends even sang on the street, earning from 10 to 100 euros per hour. One day, while she was performing on the street, a magical incident happened to her, thanks to which she now performs at the Teatro de la Zarzuela - one of the most famous opera houses in Madrid, where it is almost impossible for a foreigner to get into. Find out what this incident was in the video. ▶ Apartment rental Madrid The cost of renting a room is from €250/month. Alena currently rents an apartment in the Salamanca area. In general, when choosing an area to live in Madrid, she advises starting from the purposes of the trip. If you are going to hang out for a couple of days, then the ideal option is the center, and for permanent living, she recommends the Salamanca and La Latina areas. Our other hero Boris talked about the documents and other nuances that are necessary to rent an apartment. You need to leave one or two deposits (~€4000), but this is not a guarantee that you will be rented an apartment. The main thing is a constant source of income. Boris himself lives in the Pueblo Nuevo area and rents a two-room apartment for €600. In addition to the issue of housing in Madrid, Boris talked about the prices for utilities, Internet, mobile communications. Also from Boris, Alena and the third heroine Julia, you will learn where to live in Madrid, like a local. ▶ Madrid Transport If you are under 26, you can apply for a card that costs €20 / month and allows you to travel on the transport network (commuter train, metro, bus) throughout Madrid and the suburbs. But even if you are over 26, you can take advantage of this offer by using one clever life hack. ▶ The Spanish mentality The Spanish are a very cheerful nation. You can constantly hear the phrase disfruta - "enjoy" from them. They are very good-natured and it is considered completely normal for them to address each other informally, regardless of age and rank. Among the negative aspects - theft happens here and petty thefts are almost never solved. Our hero Borya told about the story of the theft of his motorcycle. Boris shared the story of moving to Spain, where he moved only on the second try and has been living in Madrid for more than 4 years. He first moved to Madrid in 2010 with his family, but that trip was unsuccessful. The second time - in 2015, with a larger group. ▶ Work in Madrid The first piece of advice on moving that Boris gives is that you need to go after deciding on a job, since it is not easy to find a job in Spain. Now, for example, he is involved in an educational project that helps Russian-speaking students study in Madrid. Boris and I will visit the most famous churerria in Madrid – a place where the most delicious Spanish churros are baked, and we will walk to Plaza Mayor – a must-see for anyone visiting Madrid. Our third heroine is TV presenter Yulia, who hosts the “Blind Date” program on Spanish television. She moved to Madrid from Moscow 10 years ago in search of change. Yulia told us why she chose Madrid over Barcelona, how she immigrated to Spain, where to go in Madrid, and what is special about the Trafalgar district where she lives. #Spain ❤Links to the heroes: Alena Stroya – / aliona.stroia Boris Sokolov – / boris.sokolov / terrastudy https://terrastudy.ru Yulia Demoss – / y.demoss ✔ I recommend looking at TripMyDream: Search for cheap flights Kiev - Barcelona: http://bit.ly/2u4GirY Madrid guide: http://bit.ly/2MT2lJP Madrid: useful tips - http://bit.ly/2J0mUSf TRIPMYDREAM ❤ TripMyDream Telegram channel: https://teleg.one/tripmydream ❤ TripMyDream on Facebook: / tripmydreamcom ❤ TripMyDream Instagram: / tripmydream I AM ON SOCIAL NETWORKS: ❤ Telegram channel - @andrey_burenok (https://teleg.one/andrey_burenok) ❤ I'm on Instagram - / andrey_burenok
