In this episode's Echo of the Week, hosted by Vida Petrovčič, the events of the last week (and the summer) are commented on by dr. Sebastjan Jeretič. Mediana, where we often observe that public opinion creates more than it measures, noted a slide in the popularity of Robert Golob and a rise in Janez Janša, as well as a decrease in support for the government. How can we understand these trends, what are their causes and can the government fall? But regardless of the falling reputation of the Prime Minister and the falling trust in the government he leads and in which the Svoboda movement has by far the most power, it still has a high level of support, as Mediana shows. Inconsistent and difficult to understand, but perhaps our current commentator understands this (or not)... Minister Emilija Stojmenov Duh will face a new questioning. Messing with computers is just one of the indicators of her incompetence. Does the interpellation have a chance of success? According to Sebastjan Jeretič, this will be one of the most interesting events of the political autumn, because it will show what the future situation will be in the coalition. The establishment of a commission of inquiry to investigate abuses in the operations of Gen-I, Star Solar and the financing of the Svoboda movement is still stalled. In other words, they are hounding her, currently the Speaker of the National Assembly, Urška Klakočar Zupančič. Because he doesn't know what they want to investigate, he says. Sebastjan Jeretič comments on how he sees the functioning and behavior of the President of the National Assembly, Urška Klakočar Zupančič. SDS President Janez Janša announced criminal charges against her for abuse of position. Our commentator does not dare to predict the possibility of success, because Slovenia is not exactly a predictable country in this matter (which cannot be a source of pride for us), but he analyzes what sense such criminal charges have for the development of democracy in the future. It is increasingly clear that there are no (promised) reforms. Even worse, entire systems are collapsing, including health care. With the approaches implemented by the extreme left through government policy, the (inefficient) state system is being introduced, which is the worst of all possibilities. What if, instead of ideological manipulations and debates about private and public, we started to separate effective from ineffective and imitate well-functioning systems in our neighboring countries? The management of RTV Slovenia forgot the message that during the previous management of RTV was expressed on the sidewalk in T-shirts "nobody's servants", and in the desire for a higher RTV contribution, they humbled themselves in front of Prime Minister Robert Golob. RTV has never had such a low reputation as it has now, says this commentator and analyzes the (in)competence of the politically otherwise monolithic management team of RTV Slovenia... However, in order for the public not to know (important) details, some are said to be using pressures and censorship. This time, Planet TV succumbed to it, which did not publish Požar's interview with Miloš Njegoslav Milović, known in his role as an informal adviser for the protection of the Prime Minister. As the commentator explains, he has revealed to journalists several times that he allegedly committed certain criminal acts at the behest of Aleksandar Čeferin, the potential next new face and ruler of Slovenia, but the media hushed up these revelations. Do we have a problem of media freedom, self-censorship of the ideologically monolithic journalistic guild, or both? The government implements globally unique measures when it wants to increase the competitiveness of the economy by increasing taxes. Does the government even have a strategy? In the past, Slovenia managed to take two big steps, already decades ago: we established a state and entered Euro-Atlantic integration. But we were missing the third step. Which one, explains Sebastjan Jeretič. Slovenia proposed a candidate for European Commissioner Tomaž Vesel, but not a female candidate, even though Brussels wanted it that way. Non-governmental organizations Ona ves, but Nike Kovač and the like, remain silent... There is no real target. These are not non-governmental organizations, but parapolitical organizations, parallel apparatuses that participate in the political struggle, thinks Sebastjan Jeretič. In recent days, however, the Roma issue has come to the fore again. Some warned with a clear word, while others with "political correctness", which stifles the truth and facing reality. Is the integration of Roma even possible or is it realistic to establish coexistence? But is this possible without discipline and the awareness that there is a punishment if someone does something against the rules that apply to everyone? In Domovina, we think critically and resonate. Every week, without censorship and hair on the tongu
