The damage caused by the wildfires in parts of Los Angeles has increased further: according to a fire department spokesperson, more than 10,000 buildings have now been damaged or destroyed. The death toll has risen to ten, but that could also increase further, the authorities warn. The actual damage is probably much higher, because there is still a lot of uncertainty about the extent of the damage, says American correspondent Jan Postma. The GRU, the Russian military intelligence service, has paid tens of millions of dollars to militant groups in Afghanistan.
