ZDF correspondent Katrin Eigendorf is on the front line in Ukraine: In the Donetsk region, she accompanies a battalion of the Ukrainian army that is defending the country with the latest technology. Surveillance and combat drones are in use around the clock to observe the Russian defense line and attack their opponents. Katrin Eigendorf also meets a team of volunteer doctors who treat wounded soldiers in hidden mobile treatment rooms just a few kilometers from the front. On some nights, up to 200 injured people are stabilized before being transported to a hospital. A German anesthesiologist is also one of the volunteers. After two years of war, Katrin Eigendorf sees an exhausted country, which is particularly noticeable in the east. And yet she meets many people who do not give up hope. ----- Here on ZDFheute News you can find out what is happening in the world and what concerns us all: We provide insight into the world of news, explain the background and address social debates.
