With this encore 2, my window closes, the look into the past comes to an end, just as the existence of the DR came to an end in 1994. The treasure chest is now empty. But at least I was able to capture a great deal of the ambience and the undisturbed operation of the DR (without DB intervention) on film. Thank God!!! If I had had more time and had known that there was so little time left to document, then much more should have been filmed. But it was everyday life back then and not yet a historic moment. You look at the films with nostalgia today, I was completely surprised at the time, as I knew very little about the GDR. Back then, it was a glimpse into my childhood and then the many scheduled steam train events that didn't exist in the West. That captured my interest and unfortunately distracted me from everyday life at the DR. I think that through my films, which I was happy to publish, the DR will never be forgotten. Thank you for your many comments and the gratitude you have shown me. And thanks to the many thousands of DR railway workers who have done their work conscientiously in loyal service, each at their post. One last word: If you are interested in the photos that I showed in Encore 1, then write me an email and I will send you photos online - free of charge, of course.
