Tench is a freshwater fish found in lakes, ponds, and reservoirs. Tench prefers to hide in algae and loves large bodies of water, as it feels much more comfortable there. Tench is an ideal fish for a pond with fish on a plot. Why is tench well suited for stocking a pond? We often replace crucian carp and carp with Tench, because Tench does not reproduce as actively. It grows and lives a long time, up to 20 years, and does not get sick. It is unpretentious like crucian carp. It practically never gets sick, because it has a very dense antibacterial mucus on its scales. The secretion prevents the fish from becoming infected with parasites.
