Her life begins under Fačkovský saddle in Mala Fatra. It is the fourth longest river in our country and the oldest city in Slovakia is located on it. She witnessed important events during the period of the Great Moravian Empire, she experienced a period of rapid development of the mining and chemical industry, which took its toll on her health. It has its own buildings and water works, but ships have never sailed on it. The Nitra River has its own story. What are all its faces and forms, obstacles, but also beauties, quiet corners or oases full of life? She is so familiar and yet so unknown. It also offers its shores to us cyclists. In some places they are comfortably lined with carpets of asphalt, at other times they are filled with gravel, overgrown with grass or floodplain forest. So let's travel there together now.
