In 1979, the grave of O no Yasumaro, compiler of the Kojiki, was discovered in a tea field in Konose-cho, Nara City, Nara Prefecture. This century-old discovery not only confirmed O no Yasumaro's existence, but also confirmed his rank, place of origin, and year of graduation through the bronze epitaph.
