The residents of Dedeşen village in Göle district claim that the village, named by Yavuz Sultan Selim, has a rich historical heritage and want these assets to be brought to light. The people of Dedeşen village, located 20 kilometers from Göle district, claimed that there was a huge underground bazaar on the hill near the village settlement area and that there were inns on top of the bazaar. The villagers, who said that there was also a historical mosque, fountain and bath in the village, said that when Yavuz Sultan Selim went on the Çaldıran campaign, two brothers named Şeyh Ahmedi Kebir and Şeyh Mehmedi Kebir, who were living in the inn in the area where the village was located at that time, hosted the army. According to the villagers, who also stated that despite being poor, the brothers filled the bags of all the soldiers with food and sent them off on the campaign, Yavuz Sultan Selim left the settlement area to the brothers Ahmedi Kebir and Mehmedi Kebir because of this hospitality and continued on the campaign. When Yavuz Sultan Selim was leaving the village, he wished the two brothers to live in peace forever and named the village Dedeşen. The name of the village remained Dedeşen from that date on.
