This Yes, I'm going to show you everything from the basics of Excel data validation to the lesser-known details. Data validation in Excel is a tool that allows us to restrict values in cells, that is, we can limit the information that is allowed in certain cells. This restriction can be done in several ways, such as: integer, date, time, text length, lists, among others. Most of the time, we will use the List option when we are using validation in Excel. The list option in Excel allows us to manually write the options that we want to display to the user or select the desired options in our spreadsheet. When we already have the information we want in our list in the spreadsheet, we can simply select it. However, if we don't have this information anywhere in the spreadsheet, the option of writing it manually becomes more practical. How to perform data validation? It's very simple! Just select the cell, go to the Data tab and look for the Data Validation option. In the box that opens, we will select, under Allow, the List option and, under Source, we will select the data that we want to display in our List. Now, we can see that every time we click on the cell arrow, the list options are displayed. An interesting part when we validate data in Excel is the option to customize the error message that appears to those who use the spreadsheet. We can do this to make using this tool much more practical. Another important detail is to make this validation conditional. How do you do that? We can create a validation that depends on another validation. This is called a Conditional Drop-Down List or a Drop-Down List with Conditional. To use this option, we will need to use a little of the INDIRECT formula and the Name Box. Using these tools, we will be able to create our new Excel drop-down list, which now depends on another list. In this video, we saw the complete step-by-step guide on how to validate data in Excel! I hope you enjoyed it! ----------------------------------------------------------------------- #excel #vba #hashtagtraining
