On Saturday, December 14, 2024, I took the ITX-Maeum train to Gumi Station to celebrate the opening of the new metropolitan railway line in the Daegu-Gyeongbuk region, the Daegu Metropolitan Railway Daegyeong Line. After checking the Daegyeong Line timetable at Gumi Station, I purchased a single-use token ticket at the ticket machine and boarded the Gyeongsan-bound electric train. If you look at the Daegu Metropolitan Railway Daegyeong Line route map, you can see that the train stops at a total of 7 stations: Gumi - Sagok - Waegwan - Seodaegu - Daegu - Dongdaegu - Gyeongsan, and other stops, including Buksam Station, will be opened later. The Daegyeong Line, where prepaid and postpaid transportation cards can be used, costs 3,000 won for adults from Gumi Station to Gyeongsan Station and takes 1 hour.
