Mudslides triggered by a landslide could bury parts of Kandersteg. For this reason, no more building work is allowed in the village center. The economic consequences are enormous. The village fears stagnation. It is not just villages that are directly affected by changes. Mountaineers and hikers must also adapt. Old paths remain closed, new routes have different requirements. Huts are being closed or relocated. There is a spirit of optimism in Bondo GR today: almost seven years after the landslide, a new path is to lead through the Val Bondasca to the SAC hut "Sciora". But the accident, in which eight people died, still has legal consequences. How are those responsible dealing with it today?
