Northern Italy in the 18th century! Over time, a magnificent tower that once stood alone has grown into one of the most beautiful castle complexes in the entire region. It WAS once a stately home, but then the severe earthquake of 2012 came and destroyed a large part of the complex. But they obviously didn't want to give up so quickly and two years ago they at least started to secure the castle by erecting scaffolding around the entire main building. But that's not all: motion detectors and alarm systems were also installed to prevent unwanted visitors from entering the walkable remains of the dilapidated castle. We hear loudly that these are working during our first infiltration attempt, but we don't give up so easily and with a little distance, a few failed attempts and a lot of courage we finally manage to get into the medieval castle. The effort was definitely worth it because in my opinion the Castello del Gigante WAS and IS one of the most beautiful lost places in Italy... Northern Italy in the 18th century!
