Case information 1: On July 11, 2022, the investigation police agency of Lai Chau Provincial Police received a report that people discovered a human skeleton in Pe Peng cave in Hong Quang 2 village, Pa Khoa commune, Sin Ho district. The forensic technical force determined that the victim had died 25 to 30 years ago, making it difficult to identify the identity. At times, it seemed that the case had reached a dead end. However, with perseverance and determination to seek justice for the victim, through the tracing process, the investigation agency identified the perpetrator of the case as Phan A Chai. Here, Chai confessed that about 30 years ago, Tai came to Chai to ask to stay overnight. After the drinking party, Tai stole a wristwatch from Chai. After discovering the watch was missing, about 15 days later, Chai's wife, Lay Thi Hoan, went to harvest cassava in her field in Pe Peng, Hong Quang 2 village, Sin Hoa commune, Sin Ho district, Lai Chau province. She was sleeping in the field hut, so she woke Tai up to demand the watch back. The two sides had an argument, Chai took a knife and repeatedly hit the victim's head. Seeing that Tai had died, Chai and his wife carried the victim's body and threw it into Pe Peng cave. Case 2 information: On December 6, Mr. Nguyen Van Quy, in Lai Xuan commune, Thuy Nguyen district (Hai Phong), was shocked when he discovered a human skeleton that was no longer intact in an abandoned water tank, while searching for a missing dog. On December 13, after the incident was reported, the police identified the victim as Ms. Nguyen Thu Thanh (born in 1988, in Phap Co village, Lai Xuan commune). Ms. Thanh has been missing since 2010. Hai Phong City Police determined that the case had signs of a crime, so they initiated a case to investigate and clarify the cause. The perpetrator was identified as Bui Trung Thanh (born in 1993, residing in village 5, Lai Xuan commune, Hai Phong city). At the time of the crime, Thanh was only 17 years old. He worked as a tractor driver transporting illegally mined rocks. Although he was quite well off financially, he was addicted to drugs and gambling. However, when he was in debt and could not pay, Thanh planned to rob and targeted Ms. Thanh, a gas seller, because he knew she had a gold chain jewelry on her body. The case, which happened 13 years ago, was considered a "strange case" because all traces and related information seemed to have sunk into the past. However, with determination, intelligence and courage, Hai Phong City Police created a "miracle", successfully solving the case within 13 days.
