In this talk, José Miguel No, a researcher at the IFT, takes us into one of the greatest mysteries of modern physics: dark matter. Although it makes up approximately 27% of the universe, its nature remains elusive. We will explore how physicists are using the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) to try to create and detect dark matter particles under controlled laboratory conditions. The conference 'Creating dark matter in a laboratory: the LHC' is part of the CSIC Science Week: Cycle of Theoretical Physics Conferences of the IFT and the Residencia de Estudiantes, held between November 7 and 15, 2024. Production: Residencia de Estudiantes.
