The training of Naval Engineers is geared towards providing a systemic view of engineering, with a diversified curricular structure, developed to work in the planning, construction, maintenance and disposal of naval systems such as: conventional and special vessels, port and ocean structures. Graduates will also be able to work in interdisciplinary areas of engineering: mechanical, electrical, production, mechatronics, metallurgy, materials, transportation and logistics, infrastructure, among others. Naval Engineering has been prominent in the Brazilian scenario in view of current and future demands in the following sectors: shipbuilding of vessels for maritime transport of gas, oil, containers and various cargoes; shipbuilding of pleasure, safety and platform support vessels; maritime and river cabotage navigation; port operations; ocean exploration, due to the important oil exploration activity that Brazil develops in deep waters (pre-salt).
