To find the way, preferably the fastest, there are numerous apps. They can locate us in real time and measure the distances traveled, but none of them is able to represent the feelings and experiences linked to our journeys. Counter-cartography turns our utilitarian relationship with space on its head. It is not about supposed scientific objectivity, but about representing the world as we experience it, in order to better highlight the problems invisible to the naked eye: racial dynamics, environmental issues or even our inner questions. In this edition of Tracks, we meet people who depict societal challenges and map our innermost being. Canadian artist Larissa Fassler draws the outlines of inequalities in public spaces. Dancer and performer Mathias Poisson turns his attention to the living and follows his senses to map his subjectivity. Stéphanie Sagot shows the world on landscape painting maps from an eco-sensitive perspective. #maps #surveillance #art Larissa Fassler : / larissafasslerberlin Stéphanie Sagot : / stephanie_sagot Media library: https://www.arte.tv/de/videos/119473-...
