We are driving from France to Spain in our motorhome, and the start on the Costa Brava does not go as we had imagined. Firstly, it is still incredibly busy in October, and the parking and camping sites are overcrowded. We cannot find a laundromat and are forced to go to the Aquarius campsite because it is one of the few still open. But everything here annoys us: the hedge trimmer next to us, the neighbours who smoke cigars, walk and drive across our plot, the reception which is totally inflexible, and the restaurant which serves sausages and chips. This is not Spain, and you don't need a campsite for this annoying unrest! And so we cut our stay short after one night, get annoyed again at the allotment... er, colleague who is washing his car at the disposal station (illegally) and blocking it, and drive on along the Costa Brava. In order to have a few more parking options, we get the motorhome parking guide España Discovery from a parking site that is also full. But then the Costa Brava slowly makes peace with us. The route to Tosa del Mar is beautiful, and in Piñeda de Mar we find a simple parking spot that suits our taste. But before we get there, we almost rip the water tank off the camper after being hit by a wave. But we then spend a great evening in the tapas restaurant recommended by the parking spot operator.
