▌Conversations About Life Gülten Dayıoğlu October 15, 2023▐ In the "Conversations About Life" program organized within the scope of the culture and arts activities of the Turkish Touring and Automobile Association, guests who share their life stories, experiences from their successes and failures, conduct their conversations accompanied by questions from young people. Who is Gülten Dayıoğlu? Gülten Dayıoğlu was born in 1935 in the Emet district of Kütahya. She completed some of her education in various parts of Anatolia. She graduated from Atatürk Girls' High School in Istanbul. She studied at Istanbul University Faculty of Law for a while. She became a primary school teacher by taking external exams. After fifteen years of service, she resigned in 1977 and left teaching. She still continues to write intensively. In parallel with her writing, she meets with her readers by participating in talks and signing days organized by schools, civil society organizations, municipalities, etc. all over Turkey. Her works are the subject of master's and doctoral theses in Faculties of Education across the country. In addition to novels, stories, radio and television plays, she has research examining the education and training problems of workers' children abroad and the level of primary education in our country. Since 1965, she has occasionally written about these issues in the newspapers Cumhuriyet (1965-1967) and Milliyet (1967-1987). Author Gülten Dayıoğlu still publishes her interviews in various magazines. She has presented more than fifty papers on education, training and children's literature in various sessions she has attended both at home and abroad. She began to gain a writing consciousness in the third grade of primary school when her teacher recognized her writing talent. When she was fifteen, one of her stories was published in a local newspaper in Afyon (1950). Her first book was published in 1963. This book, presented to the reader with the name Bahçıvanın Oğlu, was prepared for children. Since then (1963-2022), she has written 92 books that have been continuously served from generation to generation with new editions. These works consist of stories, novels and travel books prepared for children and young adults between the ages of 7-18. In addition, there are more than twenty radio and television plays that have been published or are ready to be broadcast. The author is married. He has two sons and 3 grandchildren who have completed their higher education and started their lives. Some of his works have been awarded by various institutions. Some of them have been translated into foreign languages. In addition to the French he learned in high school, he learned intermediate English in the language courses he attended in our country and England.
