Aerospatiale/BAC Concorde is a supersonic airliner developed jointly by France's Aerospatiale and Britain's BAC in the 1960s. One of the most groundbreaking and iconic aircraft in aviation history. The airliner was the result of several large-scale programs aimed at bringing supersonic flights to the civilian market. The leaders of the programs were France's Sud Aviation and Britain's BAC, which later merged to create a common aircraft. However, despite the enormous investment of effort and the use of the most advanced technologies, a number of critical problems of supersonic flights were not solved, which led to significant limitations in the implementation of the Concorde project. A total of 20 aircraft were manufactured, operated primarily by Air France and British Airways. The aircraft continued to fly until 2003.
