A red nose, overalls, small glasses and a way of speaking all his own, Coluche is one of those people we don't forget. In this film, punctuated by interviews with all those who knew him well, Gérard Jugnot gives us another, more intimate side of his friend Coluche. Michel Colucci, his real name, was in turn a comedian, radio host, actor, creator of the Restos du Coeur, and even a candidate in the presidential election. In less than 15 years, he left his indelible mark on the collective unconscious of the French. Because Coluche had a power, that of making people laugh and changing the world. With him, everything was possible. The extraordinary destiny of a little thug from Montrouge. The school dropout, a music hall clown, would become the darling of the country, make the Élysée tremble and feed the most deprived. A dandy in overalls, a committed provocateur, he had one foot in showbiz and the other in the Restos du Coeur, his great work, all his life. The comedian was also a complex, deep man. Under his red nose, he hid his cracks. But, on stage, on the big screen or on vinyl, this self-taught artist made a whole generation laugh, cry and move them. Died in a tragic road accident on June 19, 1986, at the age of 41, Coluche leaves behind thousands of fans. How did this artist, ahead of his time, build himself? Why did he leave his mark on France? How, more than 30 years after his death, has he remained one of the French people's favorite personalities? This film traces the story of this great man, through rare archives, more than thirty excerpts from sketches and shows, from films such as Tchao Pantin or L'aile ou la cuisse, but also images shot behind the scenes of his life, where the man reveals himself. You will also discover funny anecdotes and tender memories of his lifelong companions: Gérard Lanvin, Thierry Lhermitte, Michel Boujenah, Danièle Gilbert, Jean-Michel Vaguelsy, Philippe Labro, Jacques Attali, Maryse Gildas, Claire Nadeau, Jean Glavany, Harlem Désir, Richard Gotainer.
