Then, we strolled through the main square and saw the imposing Igreja Matriz. We had lunch at the Old Train Station, now transformed into the Hotel and Restaurant Estação Bananeiras, a place full of history and good food. We visited the Mirante da Cidade to enjoy the panoramic view, explored the Museu de Bananeiras and passed through the iconic Túnel da Viração, built in the 19th century. The next day, we saw some more historic buildings, such as the old Post Office building and the Colégio das Doroteias. Due to the fog, we returned to the Chalet and the next day we went to the neighboring city of Borborema, where we visited the Túnel da Samambaia and the beautiful Cachoeira do Roncador. After a day of adventures, we had lunch at Restaurante Rancho and ended the day watching the sunset on a street near our chalet. On the fifth day, we visited Engenho Goiamunduba, where the famous Cachaça Rainha is produced, and ended the afternoon at Mirante Cruzeiro de Roma, with a spectacular sunset. In the evening, we attended the launch of a new drinks menu at Lajedo Preto, a restaurant just 10 minutes from Bananeiras, which combines tradition and innovation in its cuisine. On the penultimate day, we relaxed at Bica dos Cocos, where we spent the day enjoying a dip in the pool and an authentic regional meal. In the evening, we explored the Telure art store and walked through the lively Beco da Boemia, full of bars and music. On our last day, we shopped at some local craft stores and had lunch at the charming Divino Casarão Restaurant, ending our trip on a high note. Bananeiras and its surrounding area are a true treasure for those seeking history, nature and unforgettable cuisine.
