Very important if the gasket (oring) of the carburetor bowl is fine and did not leak gasoline, do not remove it, only do it if you have a spare one. The mixture goes down into the bowl through a filter and is regulated by the movement of the pin connected to the plastic float, at the top the pin has a rubber tip so if it is worn it does not hold the fuel delivery shut when the bowl is full and causes the engine to flood so replace it.
