All destinations at http://www.telemadrid.es/mxm Wales, a small nation bordering England to the east and which together with Scotland and Northern Ireland form the United Kingdom, is known as the land of castles. Fantastic landscapes, huge cliffs and green landscapes are some of the things that Wales has in store for us. Ana came to study, but in the end she stayed for love in the land of legends and castles. We met her in Tenby, a small coastal town in the south and one of the most beautiful and touristic in the country, for its Victorian houses and its colorful landscape. Ana explained to us what her daily life is like in this area of Wales and told us that in Welsh schools books, notebooks and school transportation are completely free. With her we went to a castle that is more than 2,000 years old, where it is said that every night the ghost of a monkey appears, roaming the abandoned rooms and to Freshwater West, one of the wildest and most beautiful beaches. In the capital of Wales, Cardiff, Ruth is waiting for us. She has shown us the famous Victorian-era shopping arcades that dot the city and make it the city with the most arcades in the world. Right in the centre we come across Cardiff Castle, built in 1091 and surrounded by walls. As expected, there is also a legend about this castle that claims that a ghost lives there, walking among the flames of one of the library's fireplaces. In addition, Ruth has taken us to the village of the Real Madrid player Gareth Bale. We had to go to North Wales to meet María José. Our Madrid native left Madrid 22 years ago and has been in Wales for 13 years now. With her we have visited some of the most famous areas of Wales, Holywell, the name of the sacred well in Maria José's village that has healing properties. Every year more than 300,000 people come to this monastery and Conway Castle is one of the best preserved and most beautiful on the north coast of Wales. Ana met her husband while taking an English course and did not hesitate to go to Aberystwyth, one of the most touristic towns. There we were surprised to see how the Welsh defy the cold.
