German express steam locomotives, the 01-class, with 2m spoke wheels. No. 180 ran through Bavaria during the Christmas season. 01 180 is one of five 01-class locomotives preserved in working order and belongs to the Bavarian Railway Museum in Nördlingen. On December 7, 2024, 01 180, which was at the head of the Christmas train heading from Nördlingen to Salzburg in Austria, was met in Traunstein, a town overlooking the Alps. 180 ran at full speed to the border town of Freilassing, then turned around and took on water to prepare for the return journey. In the evening, it pulled the 12 passenger cars with all its might and headed out onto the main line. On December 8, two steam trains will circle the city of Munich. The main characters are 01 180 and the four-cylinder S3/6, the Queen of Bavaria. A large crowd gathered at Munich East Station, the starting point, and was overwhelmed by the German people's love for steam locomotives.
