"New York High!" is a video site planned and operated by "New York BIZ," a weekly Japanese newspaper that has been published locally for 47 years. ■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□■□ The fourth guest on the digital version of "Gachi!" is Chicano KEI, also known as Inoue Kei. I have interviewed over 10,000 people in the past, and this is 90 minutes with a man who has lived the most dramatic half of his life! The story of a man who survived for over 10 years in a brutal American prison is as stimulating as ever. The second part will be uploaded tomorrow! [YouTube Channel] KEI family / @keifamily6584 Homie Kei / homiekei ◉Profile Born in Nakano, Tokyo in 1961. He started rebelling in junior high school, and after joining a motorcycle gang, he went on to become a yakuza. He was very successful in his time as a yakuza, but was framed in an FBI sting operation in Hawaii and spent over 10 years in prison in Los Angeles, San Francisco, Oregon, and other places. After his release, he launched an apparel brand and led the Chicano boom in Japan. Making use of his experiences and learnings in American prisons, he founded the volunteer group "Good Family," which is now incorporated as an NPO. He has also given many lectures as a counselor on youth development. His previous works include "KEI: The Japanese Who Became a Chicano" and "The Japanese Who Survived America's Most Brutal Prisons" (both published by Tokyo Kirara Publishing), and he continues to serialize "Chicano KEI" (Akita Shoten) in Bessatsu Young Champion as the original author, and has also released a book.
