In this video, I'll show you a complete 3-day itinerary with everything you need to know for your visit to Chapada, and of course, all the tips on trails, where to eat, where to stay, tours, canyons and the famous waterfalls, some of which are over 100 meters high. And yes: there will be a visit to the famous Santa Bárbara Waterfall, with green and crystal clear waters, which is located in the city of Cavalcante, right there in Goiás. And going back to our itinerary, the best way to get to Chapada dos Veadeiros is through Brasília, and from there, rent a car and go to the neighboring cities that serve as a base for all the tours there. You can stay in Alto Paraíso de Goiás or in Vilarejo de São Jorge, where I preferred to stay. Our 3-day itinerary started in Vale da Lua, a region with mountainous rocks and waterfalls with very cold waters, so you can get used to it now. The landscapes of Vale da Lua in Chapada dos Veadeiros are beautiful, so get ready to take lots of photos there. From there, on the same day we went to another complex, with the Almécegas 1 waterfall, Almécegas 2 and São Bento waterfall. The entrance to the Almécegas waterfall costs from 70 reais and since I didn't have much time, I preferred to visit Almécegas 1, with a 45-meter waterfall. On our second day, we went to visit the Chapada dos Veadeiros National Park. Correcting what was said in the video, the entrance to the Chapada park costs R$20.00 and the parking fee was R$15.00. There are 4 different trails, all marked with a specific color. Don't worry, there are trails for everyone, since there is an 800-meter trail that ends at a waterfall. We did the Canyons trail (about 10 km long), and although the sun was strong, after an hour and a half of walking we arrived at the Canyons, practically a dam with crystal clear (and very cold) waters. From there, we stopped at the Cariocas waterfall to enjoy a waterfall in one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Chapada dos Veadeiros. And to end the day, we went to visit the Risoteria Santo Cerrado, in Alto Paraíso de Goiás, and tried the famous Chapada dos Veadeiros risotto. On the third and last day, we went to visit the famous Santa Barbara waterfall, with a 30-meter waterfall and located in the city of Cavalcante, in Goiás. The Santa Bárbara waterfall is located in the Quilombola community Povoado Kalunga Engenho II, and to get there by car, our trip took about 2 hours leaving from Vila de São Jorge. The tickets to the Santa Bárbara waterfall were purchased on the website and you can reserve your time there (yes, you can book your time in advance). After we arrived at the community, we took a car and from there, we walked 30 minutes to get to the Santa Barbara waterfall. And you are allowed to stay there for 1 hour. A really cool tip is that you can have lunch there in the community for R$50.00 and you can eat as much as you want. And to end our third and last day, the tip is to leave the Santa Bárbara waterfall and go to the Poço Encantado, another waterfall that is right on the way back.
