Sensory Integration Therapy helps the Central Nervous System of children learn to process the sensory information it receives from their body and their environment in the best possible way, so that they can learn from the experiences they live. Sensory Integration Therapy was developed by Dr Jean Ayres, occupational therapist, and at CEIB we are a team of 20 occupational therapists who have been applying it since 2002. --------------------- At the Barcelona Child Stimulation Centre (CEIB) we have been providing therapy since 2002, always seeking to improve the overall development of children from 0 to 14 years old, and also adolescents up to 18 years old. We are specialists in: Sensory processing disorders: sensory hypersensitivity, hyposensitivity, low registration, sensory seeking behaviour, etc. Alterations in sensory regulation and/or alertness level Gross and/or fine motor incoordination Neurological immaturity caused by premature birth Neurological effects observed after adoption (we have been post-adoption specialists since 2002) ADHD/ADHD, hyperactivity, behavioural disorganisation Emotional immaturity and/or difficulties in social interaction, alterations in play Developmental delay, ASD, developmental disorders or neurological effects Alterations in learning processes, immaturity in writing (alterations in grapho-motor skills) We apply sensory integration therapy, psychomotor therapy, we work on social and emotional skills through play, we reinforce autonomy, and we help to improve learning and everything related to school as well as fine motor skills, concentration and behavioural organisation. Our team is made up of occupational therapists specialising in paediatrics and education, and we have the best qualifications and official university certifications: Autonomous University of Barcelona, Central University of Barcelona, University of Southern California (USA), National University of Colombia, University of Liverpool (UK), among other national universities. We carry out weekly therapies, intensive therapies, therapies and summer camps during school holidays, summer camps and training courses for families, schools and professionals.
