This video was shot in 2010 when the Moses Project was in progress!! In 1966, Venice was completely submerged in water due to a 1.94m seawater flood. In order to protect the city, Venice consulted with experts, citizens, and environmental groups and in 2003, they implemented the Moses Project to build a barrier called a flap gate in the lagoon between Venice and the Adriatic Sea to block the seawater. 78 large metal barriers, each 20m long, 30m high, and 300 tons in weight, were connected and installed on the bottoms of three lagoons connected to Venice. The barriers usually lie on the bottom of the sea, and when there is a risk of flooding, they are raised by buoyancy using compressed air. #MosesProject #Venice #FloatingCity
