The first congress of the Motorists political party showed several things. First, the right-wing Motorists, led by chairman Petr Macinka, bet on Andrej Babiš's victory in the next parliamentary elections and declared their willingness to be part of his government. From the beginning of the congress, it was clear that the main figure of this party is a non-member, but an active promoter of its policies, MEP Filip Turek. However, he is bidding and does not want to get into a possible losing battle. ANO deputy chairman Karel Havlíček, who attended the congress and showed relatively great enthusiasm for future cooperation, expressed interest in cooperation. The new party symbolically managed to draw ex-president Václav Klaus into the game, who verbally supported the Motorists in his speech. ODS member Jan Zahradil and People's Party senator Jiří Čunek also supported the Motorists' ideas. Today, the Motorists are a head without a body. The party is still run by a few people from the presidency and only after two years of operation, 1,415 members were accepted. Will it eventually become a standard or an authoritarian-led political party? And why is Tomio Okamura not enthusiastic about its functioning? And what does Andrej Babiš expect from its contribution?
