#Hermitage #Temple #Cheonjaam It is a mountain hermitage of Songgwangsa Temple, the headquarters of the 21st district of the Jogye Order of Korean Buddhism. It was founded by the 9th national teacher of Songgwangsa Temple, State Teacher Damdang. It is said that it was named Cheonjaam because State Teacher Damdang was a prince of the Jin Dynasty. Later, in 1633 (the 11th year of King Injo's reign), it was rebuilt by Master Seolmok, and in 1730 (the 6th year of King Yeongjo's reign), it was rebuilt by Master Jawon, and in 1740, Monks Jisu and Jajeong rebuilt the Manseoru (萬歲樓). In 1797 (the 21st year of King Jeongjo’s reign), monks Jeun and Duwol rebuilt it. In 1893 (the 30th year of King Gojong’s reign), Master Guyeon built Seongsangak. In 1924, monks Gisan and Haeeun renovated it. In 1939, Monk Geumdang Hwasang built Chilseonggak. In 1992, the main hall was built. The existing buildings include the main hall, Nahanjeon, Sansingak, Beopwangru, and Yosa. At the back of the hermitage is the Twin Incense Trees, which are Natural Monument No. 88. There is a legend related to the founder, State Preceptor Damang, about these two incense trees. It is said that the tree grew from the walking sticks that the national preceptor Bojo brought back to his country with him, after curing the incurable illness of the wife of King Jangjong of the Jin Dynasty, and planted in the backyard of the hermitage. This tree is 800 years old and 12.5 m tall, but it is difficult to believe this legend because the chronological difference between the national preceptor Bojo and national preceptor Bojo is about 100 years. Cheonjaam is one of the representative meditation centers of the Jogye Order and is a place of asceticism for practitioners. Through a trip to the hermitage, a representative place of meditation in Korea, the program is composed of beautiful images to provide viewers with the tranquility and comfort of a mountain temple and create an opportunity to find themselves. Through the hermitage, the best of our Buddhism, we aim to introduce the Buddhist spiritual world and the traditional beauty of Korea to the world. ●Subscribe to BTN Buddhist TV YouTube https://bit.ly/3k5nt10 (Click the link and subscribe!) ●Join BTN Buddha Association 1855-0108 (Regular Sponsorship) Regular sponsorship from Buddhists is a great help in spreading the Buddha's teachings widely. ●What is BTN Buddhist TV?
