Bryusov Lane is one of the oldest streets in Moscow. Situated in its very heart, it has absorbed the Moscow spirit, its history and culture. It has become a living history of the city, a place where at every corner there are reminders of the great events it witnessed, of the great people who lived and visited its houses. Without exaggeration, it can be called the quintessence of Russian culture of the 19th-20th centuries. The famous director and theater reformer Vsevolod Meyerhold, the great tenor Ivan Semenovich Kozlovsky, and the famous Bolshoi Theater opera and ballet artists Nadezhda Obukhova, Antonina Nezhdanova, Olga Lepeshinskaya lived here. The walls of these buildings witnessed friendly meetings of Kabalevsky, Khachaturian, Shostakovich, Richter, Rostropovich, Eisenstein, Pasternak, Andrei Bely, Yuri Olesh, Prokofiev.
