In 1994, Marie-Elisabeth Cons-Boutboul, mother of the famous jockey Darie Boutboul, was sentenced to fifteen years in prison for complicity in the murder of her son-in-law Jacques Perrot. The latter was a prominent lawyer and best friend of Laurent Fabius, then Prime Minister. The relationship between the couple Darie Boutboul and Jacques Perrot had deteriorated and they were fighting over custody of their son. The lawyer hoped to convince his mother-in-law to help him settle his divorce amicably. On the night of the crime, he was due to have dinner with her.
