About :

We have put together a road trip through the Alps for you: In three weeks you can drive to the most beautiful places in Austria, Slovenia, Italy and Switzerland. You can find the route here: https://homeoftravel.de/roadtrip-durc... What do you think are the most beautiful places in the Alps? Feel free to write that in the comments. :) I'm looking forward to it! We'll start in Innsbruck. There we start at the Nordkette with a sensational view over the Karwendel and Innsbruck. You shouldn't stay long. Because the route we have put together for you is 1750 km long. Next the trip takes you to Zell am See-Kaprun to the Mooserboden reservoir. Deep blue lakes and a high alpine panorama await you there. A tip for those who don't suffer from vertigo is the via ferrata on the 107 m high dam. We leave the Mooserboden behind us and continue on the Grossglockner High Alpine Road to Carinthia. This is one of the highest pass roads in Austria. It takes us to the starting point of our glacier hike. To the Pasterze. This is the longest glacier in the Eastern Alps. Equipped with crampons and climbing harness and accompanied by a mountain guide, we explore the ice surface. If you still have time after the glacier trek, be sure to check out the Rabischschlucht and Groppensteinschlucht. Narrow footbridges lead you past impressive waterfalls and deep pools. After that, you've earned a break. So how about a picnic at Lake Millstatt? This is one of the warmest bathing lakes in Austria. No sooner said than done. With a picnic basket in our luggage, we paddle to the south bank and have a really good time. Then we're ready for the next adventure! Off we go to Slovenia. Here we want to hike along the turquoise-blue Soča and visit perhaps the most beautiful alpine pasture in Europe. The rustic Velika Planina with its idyllic shepherds' houses. You should definitely try the local cheese there. Back in the valley, we follow the hiking trail from the source of the Soča, which is located in the Triglav National Park, to Bovec. We cover a total of 28 kilometers along the banks of the turquoise-blue river. Incidentally, it is also known among kayakers and rafting enthusiasts. Our next stop in South Tyrol is also spectacular. We drive from Slovenia into the Dolomites, take a short break at Lake Braies, take the obligatory photo at the Instagram hotspot and finally end up at the Rosengarten. There is an amazing via ferrata over the Rotwand. Up here, in good weather, you can see the Sella massif, the Marmolada, the Ötztal and Zillertal Alps, and the Ortler group. Then we continue over the Stilfser Joch into Switzerland. Incidentally, you can also ski here in summer and there is a hiking trail with great views. Our tip is the 1st stage of the Ortler high trail with a view of the highest mountains in South Tyrol. We continue into the middle of the Swiss National Park. This is one of the best protected places in the Alps. We want to observe wild animals here. The perfect starting point for this is the Chamanna Cluozza. The next morning we hike to the Murtersattel. Numerous deer, ibexes and even bearded vultures are said to live there. The Swiss mountain world becomes even more impressive during the hut tour on the Bernina Trek. The multi-day tour takes you through a breathtaking world of glaciers over 7 stages. The absolute highlight is the Morertasch glacier at the Boval hut. Southern Switzerland is also worth seeing. The Tibetan Bridge is located in the canton of Ticino. This is a 270 m long suspension bridge. Together with the Swiss TV presenter Christa Rigozzi we walk over the wooden planks and enjoy the view. And because Switzerland is not only known for high mountains, but also for cheese, a stop in Engelberg is recommended afterwards. On the Alpine Cheese Trail you can look over the shoulders of cheese masters in show dairies as they make mountain cheese. Refreshed, we review all the experiences. We saw the highest mountains in the Eastern Alps, stayed in huts and visited beautiful mountain lakes. But there is still one thing missing on this road trip through the Alps: an e-bike tour! And on the way back we stop again in Lech am Arlberg. A beautiful tour to the Mohnenfluh starts here with a view over the Allgäu Alps. The tour is 21 km long in total and you have to overcome over 1,200 meters in altitude. Sure-footedness is also important because the last part has to be covered on foot. So there is a lot to see and I can't decide what I liked best. What is your favorite? Feel free to write it in the comments! And of course I would be happy if you gave me a thumbs up and subscribed if you liked it. :))
