It is located in the exact place where Moses saw the vision of Agia Batou, at the foot of Mount Sinai, at the top of which God gave Moses the 10 Commandments. The ascetic life in the center of the desert of the Sinai Peninsula, begins from the end of the 3rd century. More than 170 prominent Sinaitic Saints practiced and sanctified in the Monastery all these centuries. Over the centuries, not only ordinary pilgrims, but also great religious and political leaders, placed under their protection the Monastery of Saint Catherine: Emperor Justinian, Saint Helen, the founder of Islam, Muhammad, Catherine the Great of Russia and others. The "Bright Paths" visited this very important religious destination and present to the viewers the history of the Monastery, the important pilgrimages of Agia Koryfi and Agia Vatou. The work of the monks and their coexistence with the Bedouins. Sacred relics and images that have been preserved in Sinai for centuries and testify to the continuous progress and radiation of the Monastery, over time. The documentary series "Bright Paths" is a journey to the most important religious destinations of Greece and beyond. The foreign destinations concern places and monasteries connected with the Greek Orthodox element and are important religious monuments. The purpose of this particular series is to highlight the ecclesiastical and monastic treasure, which is an integral part of the cultural life of our country. More specifically, viewers will be given the opportunity to learn historical facts about each monastery, as well as the spiritual wealth preserved in the libraries or museums of the holy monasteries. Every form of ecclesiastical art will also be highlighted: such as iconography, wood carving, mosaics, church building. Also, to the extent possible, aspects of the daily life of the monks will be presented.
