Unless something dramatically new changes the course of the São Paulo electoral race in the next few hours, Ricardo Nunes (MDB) will go to the polls as the clear favorite. Polls have shown this since it was decided that the match would be against Guilherme Boulos (PSOL). But the opponent's delay in understanding the scenario and facing the main obstacles to victory seems to have made the path much easier for the mayor in his quest for reelection. In recent days, fluctuations in polls recorded by the TSE and in surveys conducted by the campaigns indicate that Boulos is slowly recovering. It does not seem to be at a pace that would put him on equal terms with the mayor in the final stretch of the polls. But it seems to indicate that the profound change in campaign strategy in recent days, combined with the blackout that took Nunes off the streets and increased dissatisfaction with public authorities, may have begun to change the mood of the electorate.
