He started his career in the "Politika" newspaper, in the foreign policy section, and reported on many international gatherings, from the USA-USSR summit to the OSCE summit in Stockholm. From the Middle East, he dealt with the war in Lebanon, the Islamic revolution in Iran, as well as the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He was on both sides of the Iran-Iraq war, and covered the First Gulf War from Saudi Arabia. During 1984, he worked for the "Washington Post", with the editor who was at the head of the famous "Watergate" affair. He was a permanent correspondent from Cairo for five years and from Rome for four years, reporting on the intervention in Afghanistan and the war in Iraq. The theme of this week's episode will be the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, but the main focus will be on its history and the development of such a complex relationship that shows no signs of an imminent resolution.
