Bob Ross (born Robert Norman Ross; October 29, 1942 – July 4, 1995) was an American painter, art teacher, and television host. He is best known as the creator and host of the show The Joy of Painting, which aired for more than 11 years on PBS in the United States and Canada. His show, called The Joy of Painting with Bob Ross, began airing in 1983 and is watched by millions of people around the world. In his shows, he proves to everyone that anyone can paint like him. With his eloquent and very attractive words and the use of metaphors such as: "This little cloud is rejoicing over there", "Be happy, little mountain", etc., he introduces us step by step to his peaceful spirit and beautiful perspective on life. On July 4, 1995, Bob Ross died at the age of 53 from cancer.
