Hello, boaters. Today I offer you a full video report on how I rebuilt the Soviet boat motor VETEROK 8 and installed a new Champion 7 hp engine on it. In short, I made a hybrid of the Veterok, replacing the native two-stroke engine with a four-stroke air-cooled engine with a volume of 223 cc. Yes, it was possible to install a LIFAN engine, but at the time of purchase in the store there were none. The condition of the Veterok was deplorable, I had to rebuild it all, replace bearings, seals, bolts, shafts and even the propeller. Spare parts for the Soviet motor turned out to be cheap, which cannot but please in the present time, and the design is simple and reliable, so it will not require large investments, and in further operation will not cause problems. I tried to make a minimum of alterations and leave as many elements as possible in the original. Of course, the output was not Yamaha, but for fishing, what you need, an excellent cargo motor, the speed by the way can be changed by replacing the propeller with a high-speed one, but I did not pursue this goal and installed a cargo propeller. As they say, the quieter the ride, the further, and you can load the boat with more useful things.
