In the third part of the board repair basics, we will learn about non-polar C or special C types used in the line filter circuit, also known as noise filter. These are C type X or Cx and C type Y or Cy, which have special properties to withstand high current and voltage. Each type filters out power and noise that occur both outside and inside the circuit. As for the varistor, it is also a semiconductor device that functions similarly to a zener diode, but can withstand higher currents and voltages. The property of a varistor is that its resistance changes according to the voltage or current flowing through it. If there is too much, it will allow the excess current or voltage to flow through (or its resistance decreases when the voltage or voltage increases). It is also often used in expensive power strips.
