And it doesn't matter if it's ''just'' a 320d, because that feeling will not be absent. No matter how modest or powerful the engine under the hood, the 3 Series simply drives well, and it always has. BMW would be crazy to give up on that recipe... The current 3 Series (G20) sounds promising on paper in this regard, as it is significantly stiffer than the old "three" (F30), has a wider track, a lower center of gravity and weighs about 50 kilograms less. It turns and changes direction like much smaller and even lighter cars, and its all-wheel drive system (xDrive) still relies primarily on the rear wheels. The handling will be familiar to anyone who has driven anything from the current BMW model line. In "sport" mode, the steering wheel is fast, precise, predictable and heavy. If you want, you can "loosen" the steering wheel a little through the individual sport mode settings, and leave everything else in the default sport mode.
