Volgograd operatives detained two suspects in credit fraud at the Volgograd airport while attempting to leave the region. This was reported today by the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs Irina Volk. The operational video showed two blondes in very expensive fur coats. For example, one of the women was wearing a fur product that looked very similar to a Canadian lynx fur coat worth more than 3 million rubles. According to preliminary investigation data, the founder of a microcredit organization and her assistant developed and implemented a scheme based on the principle of a financial pyramid. They convinced citizens to take out loans and invest the money in their organization, which allegedly was engaged in profitable projects and needed working capital. The business ladies immediately gave the borrowers part of the money they received, promising to make monthly payments on the loan to the banks themselves. During the first two months, they kept their promise, but then the payments stopped. The money obtained from citizens by fraudulent means, as operatives believe, the ladies spent on purchasing luxury items, elite apartments and cars, commercial real estate. More than 200 statements from victims have already been filed with the police, each of whom gave the microcredit company from 1 to 8.5 million rubles. At the moment, it is known that more than 600 people have contacted the organization, who took out loans for a total of about 100 million rubles. Searches were conducted in the offices and apartments of the detainees. Electronic storage media, communication devices, bank cards, cash, loan agreements, draft records and other items of evidentiary value were seized. A criminal case has been opened under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. An investigation is underway.
