Alhamdulillah, I am a Muslim. Since when have you been a Muslim? I have been a Muslim since the time of “Qalû bela”. What does “Qalû bela” mean? Before Allah Almighty created the world and all beings, He created the souls of all the people who would come into the world. He gathered them in the divine presence and asked them, “Am I not your Lord?” The spirits said, “Yes, you are our Lord!” This time is called “Qalû belâ.” Where did you come from and where will you go? I came from Allah and I will go to Allah. Why did you come? I have come to know Allah and to worship Him. Because Allah Almighty created mankind and the jinn so that they may know Him and worship Him. (Surat adh-Dhariyat, verse 56) What did you come as? All people are born as Muslims and come into the world as Muslims. I was born as a Muslim and came into the world as a Muslim. Briefly define religion? It is the totality of the divine rules revealed by Allah (swt) through the prophets to educate people and to lead them to happiness in this world and the hereafter. Who is an intelligent person? It is a person who remains faithful to the promise of servitude given in the divine presence throughout his life, who has an honest belief, and who has a virtuous and moral course. How many parts are religions divided into? Religions are divided into three: 1. True Religions: Religions that were revealed to people by Allah (the Almighty) through the prophets and have reached the present day without undergoing any change. The only true religion that has survived to the present day without being corrupted is the Religion of Islam. 2. Corrupted Religions: Religions that were revealed by Allah (the Almighty) through the prophets, but whose originals were later changed by people. Such as Christianity and Judaism. 3. False Religions: Religions invented by people. Such as idolatry, Satanism, and Buddhism. Which is our religion? Our religion is the only religion in the sight of Truth, the Religion of Islam. Which is the valid religion in the sight of Allah? The (valid) religion in the sight of Allah is undoubtedly Islam. (Surah Al-i Imran, verse 9) Whoever seeks a religion other than Islam, it will not be accepted from him and he will be among the losers in the Hereafter. (Surah Al-i Imran, verse 85) What is the purpose of the Religion of Islam? It is to bring people happiness in both this world and the Hereafter with the rules it brings. In how many main sections is the Religion of Islam examined? 1. Faith (belief) 2. Obeying Allah’s commands and prohibitions (deeds) 3. Having good relations with one’s environment (morals) What are the characteristics of the Religion of Islam? 1. It is the last religion. 2. It was sent to all of humanity. 3. It confirms all the prophets and divine books sent before. 4. It has abrogated the rules of previous religions. What does faith mean? It is to believe in your heart that all the principles that Allah Almighty has revealed through our Prophet (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) are true, to confirm them and to say this with your tongue. What is the Kalima-i tawhid? It is the sentence, “La ilaha illallah Muhammadur rasulullah.” What is the meaning of the Kalima-i tawhid? There is no god but Allah. Hazrat Muhammad (sallallahu alayhi wa sallam) is His messenger (rasul). What does the Kalima-i shahada mean? It is the sentence, “Ashhadu en la ilaha illallah wa ashhadu anna Muhammadan abduhu wa rasuluh.” What is the meaning of the Kalima-i shahada? I bear witness that there is no god but Allah.
