Their unreliability made headlines around the world and angered thousands on social media. In order to regain lost trust, in July the DB launched one of the most important construction projects for the Strong Rail this year: the general renovation of the Riedbahn. The failure-prone route between Mannheim and Frankfurt/Main will be closed for five months. Where otherwise over 300 trains run every day, excavators and construction machines will take over. Passengers and goods will reach their destination via diversions or thanks to one of the 1000 daily replacement bus journeys. A team is fighting against time - and for the well-being of 84.7 million people who believe that it will fail. "Late in Germany" is the first episode of the seven-part documentary "Bahnsinn Riedbahn.
