The province of Savona was hit by a heavy wave of bad weather on Wednesday 16 October. The intense rainfall and the rising levels of the watercourses that cross the territory caused damage and inconvenience. In the city of Savona, flooding was recorded in the area of via Busserio, while the overflowing of the Letimbro torrent pushed the authorities to close some bridges as a precaution, then reopened once the danger had passed. The landslide of a ridge of earth and rocks along the via Aurelia, at the gates of Celle Ligure, forced the road to be closed to traffic for several hours. A landslide also occurred in Varazze, where a wall collapsed in via degli Argonauti. In Dego, however, the overflowing of the Bormida river caused the flooding of the local soccer field, already flooded three years ago by a previous overflow.
